Back to the roots (Update for the Update)
...and back on tarmac. ;) I recently installed the Historic GT & Touring Cars mod by HistoriX and instantly fell in love with it. To install it one needs the original GTL DVD (or CD1 of the CD edition) because some models are taken from that racing simulation. No content is installed from the original GTL, it is only necessary to check you own a copy due to copyright. Afterwards you can throw away your original GTL, since this mod is better. :-D (Don´t really throw GTL away, you might need it for future installations of this mod ^^)
I have made a tiny improvement (see attachment) which semi-automatically sets the force feedback options for the Logitech G25 to the ones recommended by HistoriX. Unzip the archive and see the README.txt and the picture for instructions.
The last couple of nights I spent a lot of time on track with this mod and some OcM members. And tonight will be no different, at least regarding my track time. I will be hosting a session on my home network, and will use the opportunity to evaluate some interesting hidden features of the rFactor dedicated server as well.
Some infos on the server (updated):
Name: OcM-Racing.com Historic GT
Mod: Historic GT & Touring Cars 1.01
Tracks: Eastern Creek Laser 1.01, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course 1.10 and Machwerk 1967 2.00
Update: After finding out that the "official" download link for Eastern Creek on Racesimcentral points to an older version (certainly not 1.01 despite the name, thanks Wade) I have decided to change the track again, sorry for the inconvenience.

Re: Back to the roots (Update for the Update)
I have discovered a UI update from the HistorX folks that is more easily readable and allows alt+tab

Re: Back to the roots (Update for the Update)
After installing this Mod and blasting around with Diablo and Steve I have to say this is one of the best mods I have tried for a long time, The handling of these vinage motors is so different from the normal racecars available for rFactor and can take some time to get used to which adds to the fun in bucket loads! :) (Im just wondering if anyone out there remembers the models from their 'youth') lol
The track choices are spot on allowing for almost driftlike cornering with lots of tyre smoke lol
Excellent Mod!
If you read this go get it!
